Bob Reilly is stepping down from the Assembly, New York is now MMA opposition free

The best part of my day, so far, was learning that Buakaw is safe and sound in Thailand. It’s a relief that after over a week of being missing from his gym and his family, that he has turned up at a nightclub with a drink in one hand and a couple of women in the other. While I’m upset he made K-1 fans around the world nervous, I’m glad he’s OK. With that alone, we started off this week on a high note. In fact, this week is bound to be full of win from start to finish. After finding out Buakaw isn’t locked in a basement somewhere; that he’s actually out living ‘la vida loca’ – then we found out that Bob Reilly, the four-term democratic assemblyman who has been the loudest vocal opponent against the legalization of MMA in New York is stepping down from office.

“I believe a limited term of service is integral to the concept of a citizen legislator. I do not want to morp into a professional politician.”

Never mind that this week is going to end with the first ever Muay Thai show in Madison Square Garden, but with Bob Reilly stepping out of the picture, we can expect MMA to sail through the assembly without vocal opposition and finally be legal in New York. This just proves that politicians are sillier than missing K-1 Champions. Both of them need to spend more time getting drunk with various young ladies while paparazzi keep us informed about their well-being. When they don’t we assume they’re up to no-good and/or dead. Copious amounts of alcohol in public is the only way anything ever gets done from a daily news & well-being standpoint. [Source]
