I’ve been sitting back today still disturbed by the news story out of Miami about the naked LSD face eating man story. I can’t help but wonder what his victim felt like while he was forced to endure the horror of another person mistaking his face for Memorial Day barbeque chicken. This is like real life zombie horror flick stuff going down in Miami thanks to what they are calling ‘bad lsd’. I think I’ll skip that Miami trip I had planned earlier this year and go to the Netherlands instead. At least the Dutch people would rather sit on your face than eat it.
I wonder if the victim was stuck in some hypnopompic state of sleep paralysis while he was enduring that horror. Unable to move, unable to fight back and gain any control of the situation. Sounds like how Rousimar Palhares told Tatame.com he was feeling right before and during his fight with Alan Belcher.
“I couldn’t do anything, I was too sick. I don’t really wanna talk about it so it doesn’t sound like an excuse and I’m not taking back his credits…When you get it (the position), you gotta really get it. I tried to repeat it, but I was gassing off, I was not strong enough. It wasn’t my day, literally. I was dead, I couldn’t move. My plan now is to train and never step up on the ring like I did this time. I was trying to jump and scream to see if I had any energy left, but I couldn’t do it.”
Palhares feeling sick and dead sounds very much like the helpless feeling of sleep paralysis. It is like you can’t break out of your own body and are trying to muscle your way from under an unbearably heavy weight. Seems odd to ever suggest Palhares might not be able to muscle through and move almost any object though, doesn’t it? [source]
