Charlie Brenneman wants to stop Erick Silva tonight before he becomes a frate trane

When we talk about haircuts in MMA, and believe me we do, we generally discuss fades. As cool as a fade is, we generally forget to talk about afro’d fighters which means we don’t talk about Charlie Brenneman who has the best afro in MMA outside of Bellator. In an ideal world, the first and only Afro Fighting Championships would be headlined by Brenneman vs Ben Askren. At the moment this fantasy organisation only has one fight but feel free to add more and let me know. Askren of course, is a top ten Frate Trane but for the two to fight in real life he would need to move from Bellator to the UFC while Charlie Brenneman would need to get past Erick Silva tonight at UFC on FX 3. The Brazilian comes highly touted, and Brenneman is fully aware of this according to his interview with MMAWeekly.com Radio in which he said:

“We’ll find out real quick if his black belt judo and jiu-jitsu is the real deal. I promise I will put that pressure on him early. He hasn’t really proven that much in the UFC however, if you hear the talk it sounds like he’s the next Anderson Silva. So I’d like to put a halt to that freight train”

I’m actually pretty excited to see this fight, mostly because I believe they Erick Silva hype but also because I’m waiting on the day Brenneman walks out to Jay Z’s ‘What More Can I Say’, just for the Gladiator sample at the start. Hopefully he’s chosen that track for tonight. I’d declare my love for Brenneman if he wins in short time and tells us post-fight that “this ain’t the show I’m just EQ’ing it”. [source]
