If I changed one letter in ‘escapade,’ all of you would be wondering how the hell did Cadillac make an indestructible Escalade and where can you buy it. A few of you may even get instantly paranoid and wonder exactly why Cadillac has made an ‘undefeated Escalade’ and what the automotive industry is trying to tell us about our imminent future. Perhaps they’re giving everyone a heads up that a cataclysmic event will go down in the near future, forcing humanity into a post-apocalyptic scenario where we need reinforced vehicles to survive.
Fortunately for the sake of everything logical, escapade was used in the proper context — and it’s absolutely true. If you’re still sleeping on Chris Weidman, then your pillow needs to uppercut you at night. Better yet, your blankets should just launch an elbow directly at your chin, sort of like what Weidman pulled off tonight on UFC on Fuel TV. From my vantage point on press row, it appeared that Mark Munoz practically ran into Weidman’s elbow, which set up a sequence of events that were undesirable for The Filipino Wrecking Machine.
After serving Mark Munoz a hearty helping of Mark Munoz’s ground-and-pound on the mat, referee Josh Rosenthal jumped in and the fight was finished. I know a lot of you are going to claim Rosenthal stopped the bout entirely too late — but keep in mind this is the same guy who reffed Shogun vs. Hendo and Carwin vs. Lesnar. Take it easy with the ref bashing nonsense. Rosenthal is one of you — seriously, he anonymously comments on MiddleEasy almost daily.
Props to Weidman on an amazing performance — now let’s hope we see a four-man tournament between Bisping, Belcher, Weidman and Lombard/Stan for the next individual to take on Anderson Silva.
