Yet another reason why ALL fighters should keep their hands up in a fight

Pretty soon we’re going to have enough examples of fighters refusing to put their hands up only to be viciously knocked out to make an entire top ten list out of this strange phenomena. Fighters, the only person that has Anderson Silva spliced into their DNA is Anderson Silva. Dropping your hands and intentionally taking punches to the face is just not going to work for 99.99% of fighters in MMA. Actually, for the sake of entertainment and ridiculous animated .gifs, never put your hands up in a fight. That whole ‘defend yourself at all times’ thing doesn’t apply to you. Feel free to endure a blitzkrieg of punches so that we can have an endless supply of readily available articles to publish on MiddleEasy.

In fact, we need more fighters like Ricky Rainey to taunt their opponent by dropping their hands and leaving their chin exposed to the dangers of straight jabs. Last night at XFC 19 on AXS TV, the world witnessed Johnny ‘Buck Nasty’ Buck take a page out of Vitor Belfort vs. Wanderlei Silva and flood Rainey with a string of jabs which quickly severed his opponent’s ability to freely stand. Props to ZProphet for the .gif.
