Set aside the fact that one of our friggin’ amazing readers rocked a Green MiddleEasy shirt that made international television on CNN this morning, but why would the founder of Wikileaks seek asylum in Ecuador out of all places? For those that removed all electronic devices from their respective outlets today, Julian Assange was essentially a man on the run after a European Arrest Warrant was issued back in 2010 due to an alleged sexual assault in Sweden. This morning it was announced by Ecuadorian foreign minister, Ricardo Patiño, that Assange was granted political asylum at the Ecuadorian embassy in London. Since then, every authoritative figure in the UK has threatened to barge into the Ecuadorian embassy, but a little thing called the Vienna Convention on Diplomatic Relations has essentially urinated on everyone’s parade.
Since then, people have been protesting in front of the embassy which garnered the attention of a plethora of international media, including CNN. It looks like one of our trusty readers not only attended the protests, but rocked the Green MiddleEasy shirt while doing so. Go to the 1:45 mark to see the goods — and unfortunately right now we’re out of Green MiddleEasy shirts at WorldOverEasy, but we have a fantastic line of other amazing stuff you can spend your money on. Props to Mr. Ross for the find.
