Despite the hearty helpings of middle fingers Nate Diaz manage to execute during this past weekend’s UFC on FOX 5, he wasn’t able to bring the UFC lightweight belt back to the 209. There were no post-fight festivities when Ben Henderson walked away from Nate victorious in his title defense. Even though the bird was flicked more than once, I guess one can agree that Nate Diaz took his loss with as much class as the Stockton native could.
If you were a fan of BJ Penn, Nate Diaz, Mike Swick, or Shogun Rua — last weekend was rather rough to ingest. Nevertheless, it does not negate the fact that it did happen and the MMA world must overcome it (or bask in the glory of it, depending on what side you’re on). At the post-fight presser, Nate Diaz chose not to give the middle finger to everyone on press row and instead, spoke reasonably when asked bizarre and obvious questions.
