Junior Dos Santos says he and Cain Velasquez were made in gyms, Alistair Overeem was made in a laboratory

We’re still pretty bummed that Alistair Overeem has been sidelined for the majority of this year. Sure, a positive PED result called for a suspension, but think of all the heavyweight matchups that could have taken place in the past twelve months since he dismantled Brock Lesnar in about two and a half minutes. Instead of fighting in an Octagon, he has been doing whatever cybernetic organisms do in their spare time. I’m guessing that includes swapping out the horse meat for seitan and testosterone smoothies for plain chocolate milk.

Alistair’s year-long suspension is nearly over, and fans are eager to see him face Junior Dos Santos, but the Dutch kickboxer has to get through Antonio ‘Bigfoot’ Silva at UFC 156 first. Meanwhile, Junior Dos Santos has his hands full in his rematch with Cain Velasquez at UFC 155 – and during Wednesday’s conference call for that fight, Dos Santos used these words comparing Ubereem and Cain compliments of Mike Chiapetta of MMAFighting.

“I prefer to fight against clean athletes and real professionals,” he said. “Cain is one of these guys. He’s a real professional fighter and that’s a good challenge for me. I know he’s very tough and I know how hard I have to train to face him. The other guys, they just say things but there’s nothing behind the words. Guys like me and Cain Velasquez, we are made at the gym. And guys like the other guy, they are made at the laboratory.”

We’re not entirely sure if he’s insinuating that Alistair Overeem is a test-tube baby or a cheater, but if we had to guess, we’d go with whichever option angers Ubereem less. The last thing we want is piss him off. If the end of the world is really going down in a couple of days, there’s nobody’s sofa we’d rather crash on.
