Woah! De La Soul have put their entire music catalog online for FREE for one day only

One of my friends was exceptionally shocked I had never listened to an entire Public Enemy record before and immediately made me listen to ‘It Takes a Nation of Millions to Hold Us Back‘ before he would talk to me again. Considering I’m exclusively listening to ‘Run The Jewels’ and ‘Ratking’ right now, I can only really say it was OK. I wasn’t overly impressed but I didn’t reach to turn it off either. yeah, I understand the relevance of the album and that there is a direct link between Public Enemy’s politics and a lot of Killer Mike’s stuff, but it’s like preferring Elvis to any number of incredible rock groups. I just don’t buy it.

I didn’t tell him I had never listened to a De La Soul album in its entirety either because I feel he may have exploded with incredulity. I have now listened to ‘3 Feet High’ and ‘Rising’ and I was left with a much more positive feeling than with Public Enemy. Talking of rap classics, I only listened to Wu-Tang Forever when Zeus and Bauzen told me I had to. If you are like me and are missing out on a whole chunk of hip hop history, today is your lucky day! De La Soul have released their entire back catalog for free on their website. The catch here is that you have one day to grab it all! What are you waiting for? [Source]
