New Japan Pro Wrestling to Air on AXS TV Starting in 2015

Well damn.

Last night was a big night for pro wrestling fans with the debut of Sting in the WWE, but another pro wrestling announcement happened and stayed a bit under the radar. That announcement? That New Japan Pro Wrestling will be airing on AXS TV starting in 2015.

According to reports we can expect to see a lot of 2013’s New Japan and the commentary team will be the awesome team of Josh Barnett and Mauro Ranallo. That’s a good start, that’s for sure. Right now they are planning on running 13 episodes, which gives us at least one show a month, or maybe it’s a weekly thing? We don’t know yet, but we do know that New Japan will have a shot at gaining some traction here in the US.

Here’s hoping to them possibly moving into airing newer stuff as well because New Japan has been on fire of late. If you don’t know much about current New Japan or don’t know much at all, New Japan is the PRIDE to the WWE’s UFC from back in the day. WWE is good for what it is right now, but New Japan is putting on the far superior shows and more physical matches.
