You couldn’t actually Mein to think that this fight wouldn’t have amounted to a Pyle of violence. We know these two fighters, this is about as good as you can get on this card when it came down to guaranteed violence, and it delivered. You could say the young Canadian felt the power of the hashtag #StrikeforceNeverDie and he Meined business, Pyling it on Mike as soon as the bell rang. Mein’s elbows were absolutely devastating, and a Mein left hook dropped Pyle in an almost Hendricks/Fitch style.
Welterweights just seem to get knocked out in mortifying manners.
Huge props to Mein, who was able to stay focused and destroy Pyle despite his dad (who is his cornerman) getting arrested for sexual assault 24 hours before at the weigh-ins. Wild stuff. Then again, maybe he heard about Shayna and Jessamyn streaming Diablo and just didn’t want to miss the show.
