Seven Plus Eleven Equals an 18-second KO – Watch the Karate Clerk knock someone out in this new MMA fight

We all know Mayura Dissanayake as the gas station clerk with the fists of gold. The man who smirks as you sheepishly put back the Three Musketeers bar you pantsed on the way to the Little Buddy Fuel Depot restroom. Last month, he saved his co-worker from an attempted robbery and became a YouTube samurai sensation. He kicked the first robber in the face, then obliterated the other with a series of punches.

“I wasn’t too worried,” he said.

You probably also know that Dissanayake is an amateur MMA fighter from Sri Lanka who specializes in Chinese kickboxing. Last Saturday, he fought an amateur MMA bout on a Savarese Promotion card in Houston. In just 18 seconds, the Karate Clerk cracks his opponent with a few snappy leg kicks, then drops him with a counter left hook. Incidentally, that’s the number you get if you add up 7 and Eleven. But he doesn’t stop there. He climbs on top of his subdued attacker and continues pumping on his head, presumably waiting for the police to arrive.

The great Fedor Emelianenko once said, “Years ago we hardly had anything to eat. Now I earn more money and I see every opponent as a man that tries to put me back to that poorer period.” Perhaps Dissanayake sees every opponent as a man who is trying to jack bank money from his co-worker. That’s bad news if you are fighting him. Because even though he smells a little like petrol, we have yet to see him gas.
