Melvin Manhoef is a Marvel vs. Capcom character come to life. The 38 year old Manhoef blasted out from video game cabinet sometime in the early 2000s and has held a place in combat sports fans’ hearts ever since. All future Manhoef open workouts should be held at shopping mall arcades, downtown video game bars or David & Buster’s locations.
In his second appearance for Bellator, Manhoef will be matched up with all world kickboxer Joe Schilling on the Spike TV undercard of Bellator 131 in San Diego. Manhoef vs. Schilling will be a kickboxing match inside a cage with four ounce gloves. Matching irresistible violent force up against irresistible violent force makes Bellator matchmaker Rich Chou an evil genius.
Manhoef has won his last two MMA bouts via first round finish. The 30 year old Schilling is 2-1 in kickboxing thus far in 2014 and is just a year removed from capturing Glory’s middleweight tournament title.
