If there ever was a huge “super fight” that the UFC could market to the world, it would be Anderson Silva vs. Jon Jones. That fight will most likely never happen for various reasons, one of which is Anderson’s age, the second of which is the injury that he sustained and the third of which was the series of losses to Chris Weidman. I’m not saying that Anderson’s invincible aura is gone but, yeah, it might be.
That fight was worth a lot of money two years ago and now it would still be awesome, but not worth nearly as much if they booked it for next week. Regardless, after “The Time is Now” press conference yesterday including a non-announcement (our sources are telling us that it is going to be the unveiling of Dana White’s personal Segway scooter!) both guys went to the UFC HQ and sparred it out.
The only reason we know this happened is because of Instagram. Oh social media, how we love you.
I’d still pay money to see this fight even if other people wouldn’t. Screw it.
