Anderson Silva and Georges St. Pierre, two of the greatest mixed martial artists of all time, sparred with boxing gloves on, then had an endearing laugh together at an area gym. GSP appears to be saying something, and Anderson seems to be smiling in approval at what GSP said. The frozen moment is probably confirmation that the two men are kindred spirits, and that they are not inclined to fight each other, which is really beautiful and everything, but pretty horrible as well, if we are being honest.
Georges, who has taken a mysterious sabbatical from the sport, is muscular compared to a lean Anderson. But although they look like men who could potentially fight in a similar weight class, the aura of brotherly love is unfortunately palpable, Silva’s bright smile shining in the fluorescent reflection of his own sweaty chest. It is a reminder that beauty is defined by the contrast of opposites. And this sport, which is extremely adversarial by nature, contains an equally great potential for remarkable bonding.
That being said, and yes this is all very poetic, blah blah blah, it’s probably a shame they are getting along so well. Because it would be nice to see them bleeding all over each other someday, admittedly.
