Report: Cesar Gracie says Nick Diaz obviously wasn’t stoned during the fight

Breaking news out of Team Cesar Gracie as it was revealed today that Nick Diaz doesn’t fight stoned. After going five rounds with former UFC middleweight champion Anderson Silva, it was revealed that both Diaz and “The Spider” were popped by the Nevada Athletic Commission (NAC) for banned substances. Diaz reportedly tested positive for 300 ng/ml of marijuana metabolites.

Silva tested positive for two performance-enhancing drugs prior to UFC 183: drostanolone and androsterone.

Speaking with MMAFighting Diaz’s trainer Cesar Gracie stated that his fighter “obviously wasn’t stoned during the fight’. Gracie would go on to say Diaz failed several marijuana drugs test during his training camp before the team submitted a negative sample to the NAC in order to get licensed.

“He doesn’t take pain medications,” Gracie said. “When he’s in pain after a workout, he likes to smoke marijuana. It calms him down and relieves the pain in his body. It’s his way to naturally deal with pain and other problems.”

One problem Diaz doesn’t have is being stoned or doing stoner like things while he is fighting. If anything is clear coming out of UFC 183, the message is loud and proud that Nick Diaz obviously wasn’t stoned during the fight.
