Wednesday’s Dana White Come to Jesus Meeting Set to Not Be Fun

LAS VEGAS, Nevada, February 15, 2015 — After a rash of heart-breaking drug test failures for the UFC over the past few months, Dana White and Lorenzo Fertita have scheduled what many within the industry are describing as a “Come to Jesus Meeting” on Wednesday afternoon. The meeting takes place a day after the NSAC is set to rule over the fate of Anderson Silva, Nick Diaz and Hector Lombard after their failed drug tests.

Dana White has spoken about how heart-broken he has been over Anderson Silva’s failed drug test, including noting that it “screwed him up” for a few days. One can only imagine that White was brooding and inconsolable to find out that the man that he billed as the pound-for-pound king for years was on steroids and forced his entire career into question. The Wednesday meeting was one that White and Fertita had their hands forced into after the stream of drug test failures and fight cancellations have rocked the MMA world in early 2015.

It is a critical time for the sport of Mixed Martial Arts and the big names in the sport like Jon Jones and Anderson SIlva may have lost the support of the fans, tarnishing their images, which in turn tarnished the image of the UFC brand. This meeting will be nothing like “#TheTimeIsNow” Pep Rally that the UFC had and this will instead be like the school principal standing in front of the school, flicking the light switch a few times to get everyone to quiet down, then threaten everyone with expulsion and promise no more leniency.

Who will graduate UFC High under such dire circumstances? Just wait and tune in next week.
