Breaking: Miesha Tate out of bout with Jessica Eye. UFC needs new number one contender fight ASAP

Fighters stop hurting yourselves. Sometimes these things happen in MMA, but injuries seem to happen a lot in MMA. According to sources close to the situation or a tweet widely available for people with internet access, Miesha Tate is injured and out of her women’s bantamweight number one contender bout with Jessica Eye. Bummer.

The Tate versus Eye 135 pound championship contender run-off was originally set for a UFC event in June, most likely as the co-headliner of UFC Fight Night: Cormier vs. Bader in New Orleans.

The MMA world is now at least two steps farther from a Miesha Tate-Ronda Rousey trilogy. The Tate vs. Rousey trilogy of fights could have been the MMA version of the Alien film franchise. Alien was a horror flick with chest busters also known as Rousey bending Tate’s arm at angles never seen before. Aliens was a murderous action movie with space marines also known as after a season of TUF Tate pushing Rousey out of round one for the first time her career (more action!).

Aliens 3 took place in prison and things got weird. Tate-Rousey 3 could’ve been weird.
