At Bellator watch as Chad George and a referee argue if a fight’s over. Spoiler: dude is sleeping

From the “MMA has horrible referees” file, we have the case of Chad George vs. Mark Vorgeas at Bellator 136. After the Dave Jansen vs. Will Brooks closed out the Spike TV portion of the card, George and Vorgeas entered the cage for an untelevised post-lim bout. The referee in charge of the action in the cage left his attention span at home.

While in the somewhat correct position and about two feet away from the fight going on right in front of him the referee in the cage watches George choke Vorgeas unconscious. Then he watches some more and then the ref continues to just stare off in the distance as Vorgeas takes an impromptu nap. Eventually George yells at the referee to stop the fight.

Does the referee listen or does he argue with George about whether his opponent is awake or not? Watch as George and the referee engage in a formal debate over the limp body of an unconscious human being. The world already has chess-boxing, so why not give debate-MMA a chance?
