Roy Nelson starts his training camp for new fight with Josh Barnett by eating a glazed donut double patty cheeseburger with extra bacon

Dateline the arteries that pump blood from UFC heavyweight Roy Nelson’s heart to the rest of his body. Looking to add a sugary spark to his mixed martial arts training regime, the 38 year old Nelson is turning to an unknown sports nutritionist for help with his training camp meal plan. The philosophy behind Nelson’s new eating strategy is to throw all hope out the window, focus on rare red meats, eat a ton of dairy, and if it’s glazed eat that as well.

Nelson’s next fight in the UFC will be with former heavyweight champion Josh Barnett at a UFC Fight Night in Japan. The 37 year old Barnett was last seen tapping Jiu-Jitsu black belts in Metamoris and eating relatively healthy. When not listening to metal music, Barnett’s most recent appearance in the UFC came way back in December 2013 when he lost via hell-bows courtesy of Travis Browne.

On a two fight losing streak in the UFC, Nelson’s new super food is a glazed donut cheeseburger but the secret is you add bacon on it. Bacon is all the rage with “in the know” sport nutritionists. Food comas are an integral part of fight game planning. Take that Mike Dolce.
