With his second crack at UFC gold a few days away, light heavyweight contender Daniel Cormier continues to keep his eye on the prize but also what Ryan Bader is tweeting about him. Sure a shiny UFC belt would be cool to have around the house but what about the internet points you accumulate by winning online arguments? On MMA Cribs, broadcast on MTV 8 The Ocho, first you show everyone your pool, cars, and then you show the cameras all the online debates you’ve won in your life.
Don’t all star athletes have a dedicated space in their homes for internet beef battles?
Before Jon Jones went all Jon Jones, the original main event of UFC 187 this weekend in Las Vegas was a title fight between “Bones” and number one contender Anthony Johnson. With Jones on the run, Cormier was pulled from a fight night main event with Bader to save the sanctity of UFC 187 and the UFC’s 205 pound pecking order. Cormier vs. Johnson is your new UFC 187 main event but that doesn’t mean “DC” has forgotten about Bader.
Ha! @dc_mma who the hell have you beat @ 205? No one in the top 10. Don’t come at me and say I haven’t beaten anyone https://t.co/h2aIiWXlZW

.@dc_mma we were scheduled to fight twice and you got out of both, don’t let the @ufc bail you out of your first title defense against me.

Apparently you begged to get out of them also. Good luck sat. If AJ doesn’t whoop your ass I will. https://t.co/9Dl9lsOJ3M

“Shut the hell up and stay in your lane” deserves its own wing in MMA beef hall of fame. And of course the wing would be sponsored by Cormier’s favorite fast food establishment Popeye’s. Popeye’s has deep fried wings with extra breading and spices. Like Cormier’s smack talk, Popeye’s is Louisiana fast!
