Highlights: Kimbo Slice punches away at Ken Shamrock like he’s a common backyard dweller, wins by KO

On Friday June 19, 2015 the entire MMA universe was sucked into a black hole. While in this black hole Bellator 138 and Kimbo Slice versus Ken Shamrock occurred. At the very edge of the MMA black hole is where everyone from the MMA community peered, with at least one eye open, at the spectacle that was Slice vs. Shamrock.

Where the fundamental laws of nature do not act with any kind of reason was the only location for Slice and Shamrock to trade punches seven years after Elite XC Heat happened in Miami. It had to be this way. It was the only way.

Shamrock had to be introduced by Animal from the Road Warriors while half a dozen kids walked him to the cage. Slice’s jumbo Tron video had to only feature highlights from his backyard fighting days as the Miami fighter walked under a miniature St. Louis Arch.

As soon as the bell rang Shamrock would for some reason go for multiple takedown attempts. The 52 year old Shamrock would come inches away from choking out Slice before somehow letting the rear naked choke get away from him. On the restart Slice would slowly but surely rise to his feet, only to slug away at a suddenly tired Shamrock.

Slice’s only punching exchange was enough to put away the 22 year veteran of the sport. What a freak show. What a rush.
