UFC’s Embedded is the internet viewing you need today, even if it’s going the formulaic way of TUF

We may be hipster fight fans, but there’s no getting away from the fact that this is fight week during what is probably going to be the biggest card this year (until Jose and Conor figure out a way to fight). So what else is there to do than sit down and watch the four main eventers prepare for the fight of their lives this weekend in Vegas.

In this completely unique and yet completely innocuous Embedded, we’ll see the fighters prepare a meal, speak with their coaches, goof off a little bit and then talk about how good of shape their in… You know what, on second thought, these Embedded episodes are starting to go the way of TUF, aren’t they?

Let me explain.

The formula is now established, and in that, it’s starting to get a little stale. I don’t blame the UFC or the fighters, it’s just that we see the same exact thing every single time, just with a different body in the same old situations. You could remove Rory and place Jake Ellenberger in the chicken cooking scene and no one would blink. We need some emotions. We need something different.

I am still somewhat entertained, though.
