The Metal Gear Solid series has introduced many things into the gaming world. It was one of the first series that had a very memorable story that meant just as much as the gameplay if not more. It was one of the first games to break the 4th wall. Most importantly though is that it brought box technology to video games. Arguably the most important thing to ever happen to the gaming industry as a whole.
People will talk about blast processing and stuff such as Steam and even the Oculus Rift. The people who claim that is more important than box technology are wrong.
At gamescom we’ve learned that there will be advancements to box technology. I’m not sure the gaming world is ready for this but they sure are excited.
