Timothy Bradley discusses Super Mario and his lifelong love for gaming

I’m always interested in athletes that game. Mostly because gaming comes at a time during peak athletic development during your late teenage years. Which is why in my humble opinion you don’t see many athletes that also play video games. It also lends to my theory about athletes and their lackluster taste in music, but that’s something for another time.

Tim Bradley shares a heartwarming story about him and his son, persevering to achieve a goal in a video game.

While I find this story heartwarming, I also find it hilarious because my father was the complete opposite. I love my father, he’s one of my best friends, but he was a competitive man. We’d play Legends Of The Ring together on SNES and he’d only tell me how to jab, as he was landing eight punch combinations on me. The first time I was going to beat my dad ever, in any video game was NASCAR 98. I was coming around the final corner, filled with joy, I was finally going to beat my dad. Before I could cross the finish line the TV went black. My dad turned off the PS1. It was tragic.

I want to note as well, Tim Bradley apparently had a Super Famicom imported from Japan, if we are to believe the way the video was edited. Super cool if true.
