Let’s Check Out Some Single Player From Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare

If there’s one thing Call of Duty has always been good at, it’s ridiculous setpieces in single player. We’re quick to judge COD on its linear gameplay, and short stories but god help them, they’re trying. A steady studio rotation should keep the game fresh, but really we’re going to get the same engine we’ve always gotten, tarted up.

I used to be a COD fanatic. I’ve spent countless hours on each of them up until Black Ops 2. That was my breaking point. I gave up. Sick of the bull that COD games can deliver. Their overly restrictive lag compensation in multiplayer that penalises you for having a good connection, and well the usual run of campy, d**khead players.

Last year I grew up and got Battlefield 4 instead of COD. That was great for a while, and I was pinging people in the head with a sniper rifle from miles away, BUT something was missing. That frenzied, frenetic pace that COD delivers. It may not be the prettiest game in the world, nor is it the most technical but the multiplayer is superb (on a good day) & the single player is great fun if you’re happy to disengage your brain for a few hours. Twitch shooters all want to be as successful as COD.

If you’re interested, here’s IGN showing off some of the single player. This is ‘Traffic’, and this Titanfall without Titans is shaping up to be pretty damn good.
