Gegard Mousasi vs. Alexander Gustafsson is the greatest single piece of news you will read today. There's nothing Lance Armstrong or that Manti Te'o guy could do to take your attention away that Mousasi vs. Gustafsson is set for April 6th in Stockholm, Sweden.

The bout will most likely headline a UFC on FX card and according to UFC.com, tickets will go on sale February 9th to UFC Fight Club members. Damn you Sweden -- you got the fight that everyone on MMA message boards salivated over for months. We're not sure if the winner of this bout will get an instant shot against Jon Jones, but it appears Gegard Mousasi is under that very impression. ok guys listen up you shits, this is how i see this match going down.

based on the skillsets they have shown then we can safely say that prima facie, gegard stomps all over gustafsson in the stand up and wins a clear decision, with a slimmer chance of a stoppage.

there are, however, two variables.

1. will gustaffson turn this into a wrestling match, at least to some extent, using techniques he will have learnt more recently?
2. if the above will be the case, will mousasi still be able to adapt and win?

unfortunately these are two guys i would both like to seefight jon jones. may the best man win a guess.

I'm with you on all points, except that I don't necessarily think that Mousasi has it all sewn up in the stand up. These guys both have a knack for picking and choosing when to counter and when to rush in (especially Gus). If Mousasi takes more of a counter-punchin g approach, I can see Gus surprising him with his speed and footwork too. I love both fighters, so I'm hoping that neither fall too far down the rankings after this one. I'll probably be leaning towards Gus though.

Mousasi is such a beast that when he's actually motivated he can destroy his opponents. He's similar to BJ Penn in natural talent, along with the lackluster fights where you ask "what happened?" It should be a great fight; if Mousasi is 'on', Alex will have a big problem in front of him.
