In a perfect world, women would earn the same amount of respect for their athletic accomplishments as men. That’s the world I want to live in. Perhaps you come from a different school of thought. That’s cool too – we can agree that you’re wrong. The truth is that women always come to fight hard, and they’re oftentimes more entertaining to watch than their male counterparts. Organizations like Invicta are proving that. Even the UFC is yielding a main event to Ronda Rousey and Liz Carmouche. Pretty soon, this entire planet will be run by women and I’ll probably regret celebrating their equality/superiority in the first place. That’s almost exactly what happened with Apple computers and now we’re all stuck with overpriced phones produced by slave-labor in China.

It’s mind blowing how far the UFC has driven the sport of MMA, not just in America, but throughout the world. In 20 short years, the sport has crept into all corners of the globe and while some countries have embraced it, others are still coming onboard slowly. In Australia, it’s clear that the broadcasters know very little about MMA so they’ve dumbed down the components of the sport for the layman. I suppose the upside is, at least it’s getting some coverage for a well-respected athlete like Bec Hyatt. Check out her feature on this Australian TV show. Props to AsianMMA.com for the find.

I always love it when people act like concussions and repetitive sub concussive trauma ain't no thang.

Maybe one day we'll actually acknowledge the very real dangers involved in a high intensity combat sport where inflicting concussions is a method of victory. Rather than trying to pretend that it's all perfectly safe.

In this case it was bad editing allegedly, which is good in a way, but terrible in another because Yay for sending the completely wrong messages.
