The Dana White/Couture family saga has gotten pretty interesting in a rubber-necking sort of way over the last week or so. After Randy Couture signed a deal with Spike and Bellator, Dana White basically disowned him from the UFC, with Randy's son, Ryan, caught in the middle. Dana White sat down with LayzieTheSavage and the assembled press after UFC 156 last night to discuss the Couture situation and lay out every single detail anyone could ever ask for in this story. Dana recalls texts, phonecall-ducking, and the extremely cool way he handled the mess with Ryan Couture.

We don't want to give anything away, but this is a must-watch video. So watch it.

Did Randy Couture negotiate the deal with FOX?? No he didn't. Did Randy Couture negotiate a deal to obtain Pride and it's fighters?? No he didn't. Did Randy Couture negotiate a deal with Strikeforce and it's fighters?? Again, no.

Randy Couture was a great champion in the UFC but he was also one of many.

Furthermore, He signed a contract for the UFC to work a certain number of fights and he broke that contract and signed with a lesser organization. In the business world that means he broke his word by not fulfilling his end of an agreement. He should have fulfilled his contract and then gone to Bellator if he wanted which was a horrible career move in itself. The UFC has become synonymous with MMA and Couture could have been a great ambassador to the UFC.
