I have to admit this article should have been up over an hour ago, but during my first viewing of this 15 minute long rant by Dana White about the Jon Fitch and 15 other fighter cut-a-thon the UFC went on early this week, my brain blocked out everything but the f-bombs Dana was spewing. It was like all I heard was 'f-word expletive!' and everything else he said sounded like the teacher on the Charlie Brown movies: 'waa-waa-wa-waaa-wa'  I have no idea how to spell that sound and in this case I'm pretty sure it will leave Ted Malakhov stumped too, so he can't tweet at me like a grammar spelling nazi spider monkey on Twitter for that one. Whew-relief.

Instead of listening to Dana's rant I found myself semi-hypnotized by all the f-bombs and spent the rest of the time just counting them. Admittedly, I only half-counted though, because I stopped at 33 at about the 12 minute mark. My attention span just doesn't last that long unless we're discussing something heavenly, like caramel covered pudding pie or cashmere knee socks or spinning backfist knockouts. So after re-watching and ignoring Dana's f-bombs I realized he ranted and raged about the recent cuts for 15 straight awesome minutes that you all need to watch.

Dana even threw out a foreboding warning message that 'all the blood has still not been spilled' in terms of more cuts to be made. With about 100 guys or so over the UFC intended roster limit that could mean loads more unfortunate cuts in the coming months. And loads more angry tirades directed at the big man in the UFC from fighter's fans via twitter and all the various social media mediums. And what, exactly, would constitute a "more respectful" treatment of Fitch's release? Did Dana badmouth Fitch's career? No. Rather, he said nice things, which is what you do in business in order to leave future business opportunities open (even if you're lying, you're at least allowing everyone to save face so that future deals can be respected by the media and other interested parties == no one's stock goes down during reinvestment)

If you think Dana's lying and actually hates Jon Fitch, then what is the "respectful" outcome? That Dana tell the truth and say, "Fuck Jon Fitch, that L-N-P bitch"? Is that how you "respect" a fighter?

See, your mistake is in thinking this has anything to do with love or hate of Fitch. This is about $$$, and whether Dana is "respectful" or not (or, in this case, nice enough to give Fitch the proverbial "reacharound" by saying nice things) is entirely determined by $$$.

And listen, I get that you're a lifelong hater who just needs some hate to feed on, but you really don't need to make stuff up when it comes to Dana White. There's plenty of REAL things to not like about the guy (I'd give you a list if I had more free time)

If he wanted to cut dudes, there are about 50 other welterweights that are below Fitch and could have been cut instead. This was a money thing IMO. He reiterated that Jon was expensive; when/if Fitch returns they can offer him half of what he was making. Terrible decision.

In a rare moment of clarity (when he goes off like this), I must say that I actually agree with him 100%. Jon Fitch needed to go. He wasn't winning & when he did win it was boring as fuck. I hope Dana & Co. shake things up & get rid of boring fighters, guys who adapt the L&P style just to get a paycheck (Matt Riddle) & weed out the BS. Well more importantly, he makes a good point about being hungry. In MMA, it is NOT the responsibility of the wrestler to change their style in order to make the fight more "interesting". It's the OTHER guy's responsibility to defend the wrestling.

There is a flipside, though - Dana says the UFC wants hungry fighters. If you're holding a dominant position and you choose to wait for the bell... "interesting" or not, you clearly aren't hungry. Hungry fighters use their superior position to end fights, to work towards a finish. If you're here to wait for a bell and a favorable judge's decision, you've forgotten what fighting is about.

I just watched it beginning to end holy shit he was name dropping the entire time and a firm warning to fighters. 100 plus over their market wel see even bigger cuts then this well maybe not a lot more then 16 but more for sure. Maybe it will be better for the sport though if your style is wrestling based and you haven't trained on mixing in proper striking your not taking MMA serious I love sport more then any fan and I have to admit if I'm not impressed with lay and pray a lot would say that's condescending to mixed martial arts because wrestling is part of if but "part" needs to be emphisised
