Anderson Silva is willing to fight Jon Jones in New York at a catchweight of 190 lbs

Last week on the Joe Rogan Experience, Dana White said that Anderson Silva intentionally trolls the media because he gets a kick out of it. This may be another occurrence of a Silva troll job, if so then I want to be the first to say well done or its Portuguese equivalent: 'bem feito.' I learned that using Google Translate, a fabulous service that will eventually unemploy every foreign language teacher in the next decade. That's just the future -- whatever you're currently doing will eventually be outsourced to a computer -- even if you're a porn star. Google Translate is also great if you want to discover what Anderson Silva regarding a potential super fight against Jon Jones at some point this year.

Brazil's SportTV talked to Anderson Silva's agent, Jorge Guimarães (a really cool guy, by the way) and he said although nothing is confirmed, Silva vs. Jones is on the horizon. Anderson Silva also believes the fight shouldn't be for the belt (hence the catchweight). Jorge also confirmed that Anderson Silva will defend his title this Summer and a Jones/Silva superfight could happen later in the year, preferably in New York and only at a catchweight of 87kgs (which comes out to about 190 lbs).

My god Anderson Silva is every MMA fans dream. He is a true champion & a finisher. He is willing to fight @ his weight (185) or go up/down in weight, or fight at a catch weight. Whatever it takes to make the superfights happen. Like him or not, that has to be respected.

It baffles me that some of you people have yet to figure out Andersons tactics. He actually had most retards thinking he was ''ducking'' Weidman. Give me a fucking break. Are you completely new to the sport? How could anyone that has followed his career even remotely believe that? Picture if he took the Weidman fight without all this recent 'drama'. He would be looked at as another 'can' after Anderson molests him. This way, hes got people TALKING about Chris Weidman. No one knew who Weidman was. Now, people are mentioning Chris Weidmans name. What Anderson just did, is sell the fight. Some of you are so naive, or just filled with unnecessary hate.

You are also stupid if you dont think he wants to fight Jones. Anderson is the ONLY champ who has been requesting for YEARS now for the BIGGEST fights Dana can offer him (which is why he protested against Leites and Maia in the cage). He even asked for Mir for fucks sake. Dana immedietly shut it down.
If Anderson just right away accepted the fight and beat Jones, there would LITERALLY be NO challenges left for him in the UFC but to move to HW. He is CLEARLY imo, and very strategically lining up GSP, so that he can move onto the Jones fight. It only makes sense to fight the #3 & 2 guy in THAT specific order...otherwi se he would put himself out of a job by wiping out the whole UFC roster.

Also this 190 lb 'offer' is called NEGOTIATING. This way when Jones declines they basically meet somewhere in the middle. Basic stuff here...

The only champs who have ACTUALLY ducked any opponent so far are GSP and Jones....go figure.

Dana said he likes to troll the press, might be but i just think he changes his opinion of who and at what weight he should fight every couple of days. I dont think he ducks weidman or anyone, he just doesnt know what he wants simple as that.

haha that made me laugh esp if you read the last sentence in silva voice, still i dont think he ducks weidman, hes just lookin for a big payday or a couple of them before he quits, hell make you think hes scared of JJ at 205, so all of you gather and watch when he fights him at 205, hes not stupid he knows JJ cant cut more, but all this talk its just to rais JJ value as an opponent. He does the exact opposite of what chael did, with the same intention- thats my other theory, but in first place i believe hes a fuckin diva.

Kind of missed the target on your post, IMO.

He's not going up to 205 (where he has fought recently)... he wants 190? He basically wants Jones to almost cut to MW (which is not going to happen).

I don't blame him, the weight classes in MMA are pretty damn big, I don't think champions should have to go up a weight class (same for GSP going to 185), unless they really want to... but one could argue if he was willing to fight Bonnar on short notice at 205, then it's not out of the question for him to fight Jones at 205 with a full training camp... not exactly "doing whatever it takes to make the superfights happen".

Respect for Silva for taking fights at 205 before, but I won't applaud him for this. He knows Jones obviously won't drop to 190 to take the fight, since he hasn't even been clamoring to fight him at 205 and Jones is a big LHW with HW likely in his future.

why not just fight at 205 where JBJ is at his prime... best way to prove you're the best. whats the point of fighting a sickly weakass jon jones. its not like Anderson wouldnt be healthy at 205, or like he hasnt fought at 205 3 or 4 times already or hasnt dominated there. i respect the guy and think he's a really humble man, but it just seems like he's saying "yeah i cant beat jon jones unless i have a handicap. kinda lowers my interest in watching it. i mean if JBJ loses i'll just think "well, he did cut 30-35 lbs to make weight for that fight... that really doesnt prove that Ando is the better fighter..." i know its only 15 lbs in some peoples eyes but 15 lbs is a HUGEEEEE deal. i could see if it was 200 but 190??

its also a matter of silva not letting jones use the weight advantage against him, i think at 190 or 195 you would see who the better fighter is, whereas at 205 jones could just bully silva like chael did, which isnt what fair play is about
