This is sad and pathetic. Not 3 days ago people were hyped to the nines about Diaz hitting a speedbag for 20 minutes (which isn't that fucking hard I'll have you know, even for a freakin' amateur boxer) and suddenly there's not a good word or positive thought to be found (except from the corner of Sherko).

Diaz got beaten, but it was the manner in which he was beaten which is so damned annoying. He got out strengthed in an athletic contest and not a contest of skill, determination or attrition. They didn't trade techniques back and forward, nobody got hurt and GSP didn't use his positional 'dominance' to do anything but ride out the clock.

Nothing and everything has changed simultaneously, but there is one constant. Something needs to be done about the way fights are officiated and scored.

That wasn't a fight, that wasn't fun to watch and people who paid to see that wasted their money and time.
Wrestling matches are 6 minutes long and have been cut from the Olympics for one reason and that's that they are fucking boring to watch and guess what; this isn't a wrestling match. This is a fight and I implore you to consider the difference between that and a point scoring, round accruing athletic contest.
The reason I don't watch boxing is that it's essentially a high stakes game of professional tag and nobody wants to fucking see that and it's the same with all this UFC fighting business. Pride had it right and Diaz recognises this and was telling everyone in the media in the days leading to the fight that wolf tickets were being sold, that George wouldn't fight him, that yellow cards need to be introduced, that he'd love a ten minute round, that he'd do a lot better under Pride rules and more.

He called this fight before it happened and told every goddamn person who'd listen that's how it'd go down and guess what. It did.

And to the ME douchefag writers who said that chanting Pride Never Die is one thing they wish MMA fans would stop doing, Pride was about more than fighters with cool personas like Shogun and The Last Emperor. It was about Bushido spirit, never saying quit, fighting for the fucking finish and losing ten fights in a row but giving your all and still being adored by fans [Unlike the fickle cocksuckers that inhabit this site.]and THAT is why I'll scream Pride Never Die at every opportunity and in fact go out of my way to create situations where I can scream it at the top of my poxy voice.

To recap: I am still a fan of Diaz. Fedor is the GOAT and fuck you if you think otherwise. STT is a cocksucka, GSP bored me, you and everyone else and would smashed by Andy.

Oh and one more thing.

no but i've seen him stand 23 min in front of a speed bag without moving angles once, seen him only move back and forth for all of his fights, become baffled when carlos condit moved left and right around him for 25 minutes with no attempt to cut him by employing his own lateral movement, and seen him get tagged by repeated jabs and "superman" jabs without from an orthodox fighter while he was in a southpaw stance and never once thinking to step to the right and throw a straight cross counter down the pipe and continuing to circle off and make GSP work for his strikes and takedowns. no instead he switched stances repeatedly, a sign that he was getting frustrated and losing confidence in his ability to deal with GSP's offense. he just doesnt have the work man, if he doesnt get your back against the cage or get you stand and trade right in front of him, he doesnt have anything offer you, he's a boxer from the waste up. great MMA striker, not the best boxer.
