Well Braulio Estima already beat them to it and it looks like he used it solely for purpose of putting people to shame with his Gracie Barra jiu-jitsu. If Braulio Estima ever appeared in a Playstation game, Sony would have to throw a few extra buttons on their controller. The guy has received more golden bling around his neck than a mid-90s Slick Rick and now he's signed to compete in a Brazilian jiu-jitsu super fight against Nick Diaz. That's right, Nick Diaz is not scared of a three-time ADCC champion...homie.

The date is May 12th and it all goes down in Long Beach, California (affectionately referred to as 'The LBC' by Snoop Dogg). Nick Diaz and Braulio Estima will compete at the World Jiu-Jitsu Expo in the 180 lb division in a grappling match of epic proportions. LayzieTheSavage caught up with Cesar Gracie in the 209 this weekend to get his opinion on Diaz's superfight along with an update on Nick's NSAC debacle.

why do bjj players call this a fight? this is no more a fight than a high school wrestling competition. i mean unless somebodys a moron and doesnt tap when they obviously should, nobodys gonna even get hurt unless something freakish happens. maybe im just knit-picking, but people throwing around the terms "fight" and "war" around kinda irritate the shit out of me.

anyways, definitely looking forward to finding out where Nick's level of BJJ actually is. should be interesting

You're right, but you're also knit-picking. Why does any combat sport call it a fight when there are rules in place.

Definitions for fight:
1. A battle or combat.
2. Any contest or struggle
3. A game where participants hit or pelt each other with something harmless.

I think it might be because Nick Diaz is such a big name in mma right now and also quite a notable bjj practitioner within mma. Having Diaz's name as part of a "Super Fight" immediately attracts mma fans and raises the profile of the event. It might also be to display the difference between an elite mma practitioners level of bjj to that of an elite bjj practitioner.
