THQ was in the process of making another UFC game before they sold their license to EA Sports

Well, it's a balmy Monday afternoon I think it's time for me to somewhat shatter an illusion. I never owned a copy of UFC Undisputed 3. It's not because I was subversively boycotting the game, but the guys at THQ never sent me a copy to review. Perhaps they were trying to get a point across so complex that I wasn't sophisticated enough to understand it -- or I could just be looking too deep into the entire ordeal. However, before EA Sports MMA launched, the largest videogame company in the world gave MiddleEasy exclusive media that was picked up all over the world, made our highly-popular green MiddleEasy tshirt actual digital apparel in the game, they even gave us VIP access to their red carpet launch party in the heart of Hollywood where we took this video of a drunk Gilbert Melendez dominating Eddie Alvarez in the game.

Granted, THQ showed MiddleEasy love in the past. They invited LayzieTheSavage and Jason Nawara to drink booze with them in Las Vegas while they ripped it up in Pride FC mode. In fact, the company even flew Jason out to their studios in San Francisco where he revealed the career mode of the game. Not to mention, the copious amount of traffic the company gave us through their Facebook and Twitter page. At the end of the day, we dig both THQ and EA Sports -- but where the [expletive] is my review copy of UFC Undisputed 3? Man, WTF -- man.

Today it was revealed through a company SEC filing this morning that THQ already started developing the next UFC Undisputed game just before their UFC license was sold to EA Sports MMA. According to Joystiq, several San Diego THQ employees placed 'UFC Undisputed 4' in their Linkedin profiles before the company sold off their property. This comes just days before we discovered the UFC franchise was sold because THQ could not reach the two million sale mark of UFC Undisputed 3, a 'break even' point for the company.
