Shortly after UFC 143 in which Condit won a controversial decision over Nick Diaz, I caught up with Greg Jackson in Indonesia and talked to him about sending LayzieTheSavage to New Mexico to document Carlos Condit's preparation for his November 17th fight at UFC 154 against the UFC welterweight champion, Georges St. Pierre. It was a noble attempt to show the MMA world that MiddleEasy is an impartial site and at the end of the day, we just want to see really entertaining fights for the least amount of money. At some point between now and then, we realized that we don't really care how impartial (or partial) we appear to the MMA industry. People that complain about our coverage should stop reading MiddleEasy and go towards a homogenized MMA site of their choice. Instead of using company money to fund that trip, I decided to send LayzieTheSavage with Ronda Rousey to the 209 to train with the Diaz brothers -- because it's far more interesting.

Nevertheless, check out this video of Carlos Condit training for his imminent title unification bout which will go down in Montreal, Quebec, Canada just days before Thanksgiving. Your mouth just watered? Yeah, so did mine. Tofurkey is amazing.

Carlos, you wanna beat GSP? You'll need to pull off some Jose Aldo type leg kicks to his thigh & surgically repaired knee area. If you can't do that, just run around the octagon for 25:00. GSP you wanna beat Carlos, take him down & lay on him. To earn a decision W. Yea this has all the makings of being an exciting fight... YAWN.

I think it would be wise to hold a secret reserve of excitement for this fight, if for no other reason than MMA irony. Yes, pure MMA irony.

How many times have we seen two dominant fighters show up for a highly anticipated matchup, only to see them stare at each other for 3-5 rounds? How many times have we seen the opposite, where some middle-of-the-r oad former TUF cast member pulls out a surprising win?

Would I be surprised if the Condit-GSP fight is a snoozer? Not really. But I won't be sleeping on it just yet, either. The beauty of this sport is that anything can happen, and there's a fair chance that GSP is smart enough to realize that you don't out-point a point fighter.

I think you are all very sad people. Out of his last 10 wins, he finished EIGHT of them. He went to a decision with Diaz, 25 f** minutes, yet Diaz complains, he didn't have enough time? What happened? Stop being so bias, everyone wanted the interesting and obscure guy to win, yet Carlos eluded his gameplan and won the fight, what's to complain about? He played it safe, and the damage done by Diaz or Carlos wasn't that far from each other. Carlos avoided the fence, Nick wanted the fence, Carlos didn't, Carlos avoided it, Nick couldn't force him, Carlos won. That's it.

Only because he got lucky with the judges, they could've easily called it the other way like a lot of other people did. That fight wasn't a win for anybody, it was a stupid gamble on both sides. Either fighter should've tried to end the fight instead of playing point games.

Carlos won the fight with Nick and made Nick look bad. He doesn't run in his fights retards. He just had a great game plan for one crazy opponent and all of a sudden he is a runner! holly shit he is the natural born killer for a reason, just watch any other fight of his, any of them. idiots

i think what enrages the fans is that in the pre fight interviews carlos said he was a warrior with a killer instinct, but came out fighting very strategically and conservative. i believe he couldve finished the fight had he thrown to finish, especially the face kick

No one is questioning Condit, any MMA fan knows he is a killer, the thing is, Condit SOLD HIS SOUL for a belt! For the interim belt

He just ran, and yes, he RAN, don't tell me he was circling or using footwork...TURN ING YOUR BACK on your opponent and run is not circling..he ran from one side to another and Nick still landen very nice shots at him

Don't get me that shit "fightMetric said Condit won", fightmetric counts the touch of skin as a strike, even is you've blocked it

FightMetric are just a buch of dudes trying to keep a count of the striker and stats of the things that happen during the fight...there is no way a machine can know what a significant or power strike is, without a sensor in the fighter's gloves, which as you know, is prohibited

People are not saying Nick Diaz destroyed Condit, it was a close decision non the less...mostly because of the 358642509465340 956459360 thousand baby legs kick Condit landed, but still Diaz won in the eyes of many

Condit just won in the eyes of a few, in the yeres of his fans, and in the eyes of Diaz's haters of course

Let's put all of that aside, now think, if Condit sold his soul for an interim belt and ran around to get that decision against one of the most intertaning fighters in the sport, what do you think is going to happen against the most dominant welter weight champion ever in a fight for the real belt?

I really hope i'm wrong, i hope it turns out to be a great fight (with a finish for a change...i don't wanna see a "dog fight" from Condit ever again

I still don't understand the outcome of the first fight. Diaz was literally walking forward for the entire fight and being aggressive. How is that not worth more than running, ducking, and throwing out some pillow kicks?

Because if your not hitting the person your chaseing and he's hitting you, then you lose. Condit buckled Diazs legs in the 4th and kicked him in the face. Diaz swung at air and walked forward he barely hit him. What does aggression mean if you do no damage?

Unless you train MMA/muay thai/bjj i doubt you will appreciate the master that GSP is.

He not only beats everyone he vs's, but he absolutely crushes them to a point where the opponent knows there is nothing they can do. to crush an opponents will like that is truly remarkable.

cause heaps of fighters get caught by a knock out or submission and think "i just got caught, thats all. i could still win".

he likes to paint a perfect picture of defeat for his opponent. doesnt let them get anything on him but proves he outclasses everyone.

What he did to koscheck was a perfect example. Nothing you can do for a complete 5 rounds except get punished and realise he outclasses you completely.

i agree to most fans GSP is boring. but you have to learn to appreciate the way he wins absolutely every fight.

i wasnt a fan before i really started training (4+ years now) and trying to break down fights and understand the fight game in all its intricate details

Uhhh GSP was known for being a finisher. That's how he aquired his original fan base. He was what Rory McDonald is today, that is until Matt Serra came along & took his killer instinct. As far as taking guys 5 rounds & "out classing them", it makes him look bad. He broke Koschecks eye early in the 1st round & over the next 25:00 he couldn't finish him? Dan Hardy all but gave him his arm & he couldn't finish? Same goes for Jon Fitch. *** Take note that they have dropped the "RUSH" from his name when he's introduced now. Why you ask? Because George "RUSH" St. Pierre has turned into plain old George "SAFE" Pierre.

Condit and Gsp are the two best welterweights in the world. If you are a fan of mma then that should be exciting. If Carlos were to win by squeaking out a decision against the Best in the world at doing Just That then that would be something to see. If he stops him, which is higjly probable IMO due to his past fight percentages for finishing his oponents, then that would be historic. If gsp takes him Down he will be in a guard that is better then any he has ever faced. Fans of DiaZ on Middle easy here posting snooze fest are all brainwashed children. Dias is awesome but his tough attitude wont beat the very elite. Condition wins by tko4TH. ROUND. Knees and elbows

I get the feeling we're going to be hearing Diaz fans still crying every time Condit is brought up forever. I love Diaz, but I have never seen a bigger bunch of whiners. Condit will be long retired and interviewed as an old man in some MMA magazine or on some show for some reason and the first thing you'll see is some moron posting "Diaz won 1,2,5." And then a crybaby fest will ensue. At some point, honestly, just let it go.
